INSTRUCTOR: BALLET Steven received his PhD in Dance Studies from The Ohio State University in 2021, where he wrote his dissertation on 20th century British ballet choreographer Sir Frederick Ashton. Prior to graduate school, he studied ballet at Ohio State with numerous teachers who gave him a well-rounded foundation. Steven received additional Balanchine training at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle, Washington. He has also studied with teachers who graduated from the Cuban National Ballet School and incorporates some of those principles into his teaching. Steven currently teaches dance and writing in the Columbus area, while working on research for a book project about New York City Ballet dancer Nicholas Magallanes. |
