Xclaim produces artfully crafted concerts, creative collaborations, community engagements and select commissioned projects. The Company typically produces two independent productions a year, one in the Fall & one in the Spring. New dancers are accepted at the beginning of each new project, though the expectation is that dancers will commit to the entire season.
Dancer perks and responsibilities include: company technique class, rehearsals, performance, outreach engagements, and some fundraising. The time commitment may vary based on rehearsal availability and casting. Generally rehearsals are two evenings a week for approximately 2-3 hours. Rehearsal preparation for an independent project is generally 10-12 weeks. A limited number of trainee and understudy positions will be available each season at the discretion of the director, but may include a trainee fee or equal fund-raising goal.
General Auditions:
Bring $15 and a dance resume.
Please come in suitable dance attire with hair pulled back. Audition may include ballet barre, across the floor combinations, centre work, improvisation and choreography from Xclaim's repertoire.
