COSTUME DESIGN & CONSULTANT Micah is currently a BFA candidate in Dance Performance & Theatre Production (with a focus in Costume Design) at Kent State University. She is an alumni of Xclaim Centre for the Arts where she began her dance training in 2009. She is a homeschool graduate and the oldest of 9 siblings. Since 2009 she has studied Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap dance and Acrobatics. Her teachers at Xclaim included: Mary Vickery, Mariah Layne French (her mom), Bethany Lee, Ruth Keysor, Amy Schmidt, Daryse Osborne, Lisa D'Onofrio & Jenna Swartz. She also studied dance at the Ohio State University's Summer Dance Intensive for two years. Micah served as costume assistant & mistress of the company for 8 seasons before heading to KSU to expand her knowledge of her craft. Her costume design seen in THE CAROL is the result of years of historical fashion research and was Senior Capstone Project. Her debut performance with Xclaim as a dancer was as an aerialist “The Elephant Bird” in Xclaim’s 2015 Fanciful Danciful. She danced as a company dancer for 5 seasons, and still joins periodically for special projects. She is excited to continue a new chapter of growth in pursuing her passion, and is always happy to share the stage with her Xclaim family! |
