TRU KINGDOM MEGA CREW
Dayja's passion for dance began at age 10 in liturgical praise dance in her church. After this she also began training in ballet, modern, contemporary and tap styles. She attended Fort Hayes where she continued her technical study in the art of dance. While she was in college she trained at BalletMet Columbus. Dayja also trained in West African Dance with the community. A year after beginning her journey with West African Dance movement she joined Goree West African Drum and Dance. She had the opportunity to also study this form with the Alvin Ailey School in New York.
This is her second season dancing with TKMC. She's found her passion moving with them in a variety of styles, including this current collaboration with Xclaim Dance Company.
Dayja is passionate about reaching the community through working with youth and women to teach them the empowering nature of dance. She is a doting mother of 4. She aspires to run a studio of her own one day.
